Thousands of years ago, people would build communities around wells, because they provided their main source of life, water. We see in the scriptures (John 4) that Jesus walked into a community that happened to be built around a well (Jacob’s Well). It was at this well that Jesus met a Samaritan woman who had come to draw some water. During their conversation, Jesus offered living water, a way to “never thirst again” and as a result, a community came to believe in Jesus Christ.
Our goal is to establish well communities centered on Christ, the one who provides “living water”. We believe that by meeting in different neighborhoods and communities, we can open our doors to people who are thirsty for something that this world could never supply. Our well communities are missional in their focus (focused on advancing the mission of Christ on earth) and incarnational in their approach (stepping into the world). We are looking forward to seeing the kingdom of God advance as we come together as well communities to grow and show the love of Christ to those we come in contact with.
We believe that genuine community is one of the hardest things for young adults to find in the church today. We also believe that we were created to be in relationship with one another. Therefore, we have set out to establish “well communities” in the different towns and neighborhoods in our area. A well community exists as a “place of life’ where people gather together to celebrate and grow in the life that is available in Christ.
These groups are built around worship, teaching, acts of service and fellowship. Check out all of the different “well communities” that are meeting in our area. We would love for you to get involved!
